Knowing and accepting

To me, beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. Itโ€™s about knowing and accepting who you are.

~ Ellen DeGeneres

There was a time when I looked at my images, and the first thing I did was to point out every imperfection in the image. Nowadays, I don’t even look for those imperfections. Sometimes I happen to see them, but they don’t bother me anymore. I choose to see me, to really see me, and to see the beauty of the image.

Feeling like this is not something that happened overnight. No, it took years of going from “I am happy as I am” to “I hate what I see in the mirror” to get to where I am now. And to be honest, accepting what I look like, accepting that this is me, and knowing I am desirable despite all my imperfections… that’s a pretty cool place to be.

  1. I love this. I have looked at this dress so many times and wondered if I could pull it off. You definitely have so I think now when I see it I will think of your brilliant bottom and leave it there. Great image and post. Totally agree that seeing imperfections gets you nowhere. Now to kick that habit lol ๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. I think you can totally pull it off if you wear this dress – in more ways than one ๐Ÿ˜‰
And I know, it’s difficult to kick that habit, and I don’t say I won’t have bad days anymore, but I do have a lot more good days ๐Ÿ™‚ xox

    1. Aww, you are so kind. I really hope you get back on the path. It’s a beautiful place to be ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks, May. I have been wanting to experiment with this angle for so long, and now finally remembered to do so ๐Ÿ˜‰ xox
