#SoSS #110: The Final 2019 Edition

Only a couple of days remain of this year. Four to be exact, if you include today. I look back on this year, and wonder where the time has gone. At the same time, it feels like this year has been so long. I think this is because the days before Christmas, and the Christmas days were so difficult. My head was filled with fog, and the closer Christmas came, the less I could focus. It seemed like my ability for clear thoughts had been stolen. I knew where it came from, knew that it had to do with all the losses of the past three years, not only my mom, but also part of my life as it was.

I don’t want to feel like this; it just happens. And in the same way it just happens that I wake up on morning, and the fog has cleared. I literally feel better, stronger, more alive, more energetic. This happened yesterday morning. I woke up, sat on the side of the bed and said out loud: I feel better.

There was a time when I took for granted that the Christmas time is a happy time. I don’t anymore.

In the next days we will count down to the end of the year. On New Year’s Eve my son will be here, the Top 2000 will be on the radio and we will just have a night at home, listening to the music that remind me of the rock chic I am. Sounds of Pink Floyd, Queen, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin will make me smile, as will those of The Eagles, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and Toto. It will be a good night, as it always is.

I wish everyone of you a pleasant countdown, and all the love, happiness, peace and good health for 2020!

Sexy writing

Christmas was a difficult time for me, which is why some posts about how others did Christmas this year, resonated with me:

Christmas is not always about smiles and happy times, but also about those moments that all we need is a hug and the support to get through it.

A beautiful post by Eye, Memories, Moments and Wanting More which is filled with the love she and her master has for each other, the path they have walked together and a hint at the plans they are making for the future.

This should probably be put under the heading ‘images’, but I want to highlight some bloggers who are taking part in Sassy’s Twelve Days of Sexmas. Of course there’s Cat herself, as well as Sweetgirl, J. Lynn and Deviant Succubus. And then there is Jade who has her own version of this, The Twelve Tasks of Kinkmas.

I love when characters in a story intrigues me from the very beginning, and also when the story leaves me with warm feelings, just like Brigit Delaney’s story A Naughty Christmas Pudding did. I just love this!

There are two photo memes I check every week to look for sexy images to share here: Sinful Sunday and Lingerie Is For Everyone.

Wicked Wednesday

Every week someone else in the community does the top 3 roundup for Wicked Wednesday. Sometimes it’s me, but mostly it’s someone else. I love to engage others to do it, because I want Wicked Wednesday to be for everyone.

Are you interested in doing the roundup (again)? Just get in contact with me!

Prompt 395 for Wicked Wednesday was ‘Christmas’ for which 26 posts were linked. The top 3 was done by myself and I chose:

Smut Marathon

As I am writing this (the evening before it goes live on the site) there are just more than 40 places left for the Smut Marathon 2020. There are only 120 places, and once again I am amazed at the interest to participate in this competition, and I am even more stunned by the number of new people who have signed up. Of course you will have to wait to see all the names, but if you are planning to sign up, don’t wait too long!

Rebel’s year in review: third quarter

I have been doing my year in review for several years now, and this is my way to yet again say thanks to those who have acknowledged some of my work, and at the same time cast a light on their blogs. It reminds me of this wonderful community, where we all have a voice, we all want to learn from others, and we share each other’s work, because that makes the community even stronger.

Achievements & mentions

  • My image, Shifting Focus was mentioned in May More’s post, July 2019 ~ Blogging Summary & #SoSS.
  • The lovely Violet Fawkes had some beautiful words for many people in the 500th post on her blog, and she also mentioned me alongside Molly, Kayla and Hyacinth, which really made me so proud:
The Meme Queens and so much more: Molly, Kayla, Hy and Marie
Where do I start? These four are, to me, the pillars of the community. Four strong, brilliant, and inspiring women who overcome their own obstacles and the obstacles of the world at large to share their thoughts and stories and experiences. All four of these women are humble and brilliant, fierce and so full of love and kindness. I feel forever in their debt for their direct and indirect support, for patiently fielding my inane questions and being stellar role models. Their weekly memes (#SinfulSunday, #MasturbationMonday, #BoobDay and #WickedWednesday) have been instrumental in helping me find my voice as an NSFW artist through both words and images. These women embody feminism, strength, beauty and grace.
  • My post, Collars and cuffs has been chosen by HisLordship as the featured post for the Tell Me About prompt ‘Collars and cuffs’.

Smut Marathon 2019

This was a proud month for me. Finally I could announce the publication of the Smut Marathon 2018 anthology: Enigma Variations: A 2018 Smut Marathon Guide to Erotic Writing. I am so incredibly proud to have this book in my possession and for others to have it, and to have been able to make the dreams of some writers come true!

Then of course, this month was about round 8, the quarter finals! The writers had to write an erotic story about two people of any gender configuration, except for a cis hetero couple pairing. Some brilliant stories were written for this, and the results revealed Marsha Adams as the overall winner.

Achievements & mentions

  • My post, Be true to yourself! has been mentioned in May’s post, August 2019 ~ Blogging Summary & #SoSS.
  • My post, Processing Pain was chosen as one of the top 3 for Wicked Wednesday week 380.
  • My post, Shoulder has been chosen by Nooky for the top 5 of Sinful Sunday week 440:
The right words to explain why I so like this image keep eluding me. I keep typing and then erasing different things because nothing quite gets to it. I suppose the closest I can get is that it feels like a palimpset, a page that’s been written over and over with different tracings of life: freckled and tanned by the sun, inked with tattoos, pierced through with needles, and marked in tiny ways as distinctly *this* body, a specific and beloved one: a mole, the set of muscles in her shoulder, the colours of her areola like muddled berries. Nudity not abstract but particular.
  • My post, Edited has been chosen by Lexy as one of the top 5 for Sinful Sunday week 441. This is what she said:
This closeup is exquisite. I love the selective focus that makes a soft landscape of Marie’s nipple; the way she has captured incredibly fine detail even while obscuring so much; and how the richness of the skin’s texture is emphasized by the smoothness of the ball. This is a luminous and lovely image, and I can absolutely understand why she was proud to share it with her daughter.
  • My image Stretched has been chosen for the roundup of Lingerie is for Everyone week 37.
  • Baby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk was mentioned by Asrai Devin in her post Interspiration 2019 #36.
  • An image of mine, Sunday Morning, has been used in a post by Little Switch Bitch, called 5 Tips For Giving A Great Blowjob From Him And Her.
