#SoSS #109: The Christmas Edition

For this edition of my #SoSS, I wanted to concentrate on Christmas, because when the next edition comes around, Christmas will be behind us.

Christmas means so many things to so many people. I also think that as we move on through life, it means different things to us. When I was a child, it was magic. Christmas was right in the middle of the summer holidays, and we were always away from home, playing outside, and on Christmas Eve we received our gifts, and Christmas Day was all about enjoying the things we had been gifted. As a young adult, Christmas was the same, but different, because now I was the one making it magical for my kids. It became even more magical when we moved to Europe, where the days were shorter in winter, and the cold outside told you it was Christmas time.

Somewhere in all of this, I don’t know when and where, I have lost the magic of Christmas. Maybe it’s because I am older and time seems to go faster, but it seems that Christmas is just about done and then you have to start all over again planning it. And, I started to resent that if was all about obligations. You have to have dinner together. You have to buy each other presents. You have to be happy.

All I want for Christmas is to be happy, and the happiest you can make me is to not expect me to have the compulsory dinners and gifts. Last year I started a new tradition. Everyone celebrates Christmas the way they want, and on ‘second Christmas Day’ or Boxing Day like it’s called in many parts of the world, the children can come over to us for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. They are not required to be here, no, they can come over if they want to. Even if they call me on the morning of the 26th and tell me they don’t want to come over for whatever reason, I will be fine with it. Last year my oldest daughter – who LOVES Christmas – was a bit upset with me because this is what I want for Christmas, but I am glad to say that this year she is perfectly okay with it.

No matter how you choose to celebrate Christmas, or even if you choose not too, I hope it makes you happy. Life is full of obligations, and Christmas should not be just another one of those!

That said, I would love to hear what you are doing during the Christmas days!

Sexy writing

I have written about dreams this week, but the ‘odd dream’ Devie has written about in her sexy Christmas story An Elf’s Sexy Adventure is much sexier than those dreams of mine I can’t remember.

You all know that Santa is fake, right? But the elves are not! Seriously, those elves are so damn sexy, and just love to have fun between themselves, or so goes the story of The Three Naughty Elves as told by bluesubmission!

Christmas is not complete if you haven’t had a sleigh ride, right? But, what if there’s no snow? Then you just have to improvise, and that is exactly what Submissy has done to give His Lordship a Sexy Sleigh Ride.

Hot images

There are two photo memes I check every week to look for sexy images to share here: Sinful Sunday and Lingerie Is For Everyone.

I am sure there will be a lot more Christmas-themed images in the coming week, but here are some delicious picks from the past week:

Wicked Wednesday

Every week someone else in the community does the top 3 roundup for Wicked Wednesday. Sometimes it’s me, but mostly it’s someone else. I love to engage others to do it, because I want Wicked Wednesday to be for everyone.

Are you interested in doing the roundup (again)? Just get in contact with me!

Prompt 394 for Wicked Wednesday was ‘Advent’ for which 21 posts were linked. The top 3 was done by Eye and she chose:

I am sure you have seen that the entries for the Smut Marathon 2020 have opened. If you want to join this writing challenge, which lasts an entire year (hence, marathon), please sign up before 19 January 2020. Keep an eye on the site, as only 120 writers will be allowed to participate. I frequently update the number of places left. We already are more than halfway to have all spots filled!

There’s a meme that started on 16 December, and will be running until 31 December 2019, which means there’s enough time for you to get involved, especially since Christmas is next week. The meme is called Bawdy Bells and hosted by Steeled Snake and Steeled Charmer. Come on, join the fun!

Rebel’s year in review: second quarter

I have been doing my year in review for several years now, and this is my way to yet again say thanks to those who have acknowledged some of my work, and at the same time cast a light on their blogs. It reminds me of this wonderful community, where we all have a voice, we all want to learn from others, and we share each other’s work, because that makes the community even stronger.

Smut Marathon 2019

The results for the third round were published and for this round Jayne Renault was the overall winner. The fourth voting round also opened, and for this round the writers had to share stories about eavesdropping. Unfortunately one of the judges had to be replaced, and I was delighted to welcome Brigit Delaney on board as the fifth judge. A bonus post this month was about transitions, those words you use to link between sentences or paragraphs, and are essential in your writing.

Smut Marathon 2019

May was the month in which I started introducing the sponsors for this year’s marathon. The first ones introduced were:

Without the writers, the sponsors would have no one to give their prizes to, right? The results for the fourth round were published on the site, and this time The Other Livvy won the round. A bonus post was Elements of a Story which shows and discusses exactly what the title says.

Achievements & mentions

  • My blog was mentioned in Modesty Ablaze’s post Modestly Spreading a Little Love #F4TFriday:
Marie’s blog was one of the first “sex-blogging” sites I came across when I started wondering about, and joking with Hubby about, “publishing” my own experiences in the form of a blog page of my own. The honesty, sincerity and directness of Marie’s writings about her journey, and lifestyle, immediately struck a chord. And the more I read, the more in awe I became . . . and have remained ever since. And not just of her posts, but also of her regular photographic updates of her tattoos and piercings.
  • My blog was mentioned by Deviant Succubus in her post Spread a Little Love:
I love the absolute honesty in Marie’s blog. I am really impressed by how she doesn’t hold back when touching upon the most difficult topics or discussing her innermost feelings when it comes to her relationship with her Master. She is also an amazing artist, the sinful, sexy and naughty pictures she takes of herself are always very beautiful and tasteful. She has a strength that shines through in every post that she writes. She is non-apologetic about who she is, but at the same time also humble about the reality of her needs, her relationship and her involvement in the sex blogging community. She is such an inspiring human being!
  • My image, Socializing in Red was used as the Masturbation Monday week 246.
  • My blog is mentioned in Kurvy Kinkster’s post, Have Come To Realize.
  • My post, Her first gangbang, was mentioned in Asrai Devin’s post, Interspiration 2019 #19.
  • My post, Concluding April’s Masturbation was mentioned by Eve Ray in her post, Sharing Our Shit – Eurovision Special.
  • My image, The Storm, was mentioned by Bee in her post, Whats the buzz #17.
  • Master T and myself were mentioned in Julie’s post, Laughter and joy, after we met each other for drinks and dinner in Rotterdam.

Smut Marathon 2019

For the fifth round the writers had to write a story that happened entirely in the dark, which means they had to use their senses. When the results of the fifth round were published, it revealed Zebra Rose as winner of the fifth round. Also in this month, two more sponsors were announced:

  1. What a great, and comprehensive round up Marie. I feel slightly exhausted (and not worthy) when I see what you achieve. You are a hard-working and generous blogger who provides boost and support for our community, but I was interested in what you wrote recently about prioritising your time and focusing your efforts – I shall steal some ideas. Keep it up Marie, you’re doing a great job.

  2. I think it’s awesome that you have the attitude you do toward Christmas. I would just as soon do away with gift giving (except for to my son). Just having decorations and family for dinner would make me happy.

These end of year posts are amazing!

  4. Thank you so much for sharing my Wicked Wednesday post! You always share and promote so many people and look at all the things you have achieved this year! You Amaze Me.

    Merry Christmas Rebel x
