Love… it’s such a beautiful thing and it comes in so many different forms. The first love most people think about is that between lovers, but there’s the love for our parents, for our kids, for our friends, and yes, sometimes even for our colleagues. This past week there were so many posts about love, and where I didn’t think I would write one, I did. It was a difficult week for me, with so many tears shed, many of them while watching Glee (we started on it some weeks ago). Some of the music sparked even more emotion, but we watched the memorial episode they had for Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) on the day after my daughter’s birthday and I just broke down.
Sometimes we only know the depth of our love for someone once they are gone. I always knew I love my mom, but it’s only now that I can’t hug her anymore, can’t have laughing fits with her, can’t share a meal or a cup of coffee with her, can’t tell her I love her anymore that I realize how deep my love was for her, how much she actually meant for me, how much she did for me. It makes me look at my relationships with my husband and my kids and my friends in a totally different way. It seems my mom is still teaching me new things about myself, even now, more than two years after she passed away.
Because of all the love I have in my heart for so many people, and all the love I receive from so many people (yes, you reading this too!), I am dedicating this edition of my #SoSS to love.
Hold those you love close, and tell them you love them. Not only today, but every day!
Sealing a loving relationship with a ring is so beautiful, and that is exactly what Deviant Succubus and her Master did this week. Read Cynical About Marriage – Still, I did it again! to learn more about their special day. Congratulations, you two!
Molly talks about her experience with love, how she didn’t believe in it, but then she did. In her post, For love she also talks about all the other loves in her life, of which one is her blog. This is a post deep from the heart of a beautiful, strong woman.
Floss has a question for everyone: Love Tells; How Do I Spot Them? How do you spot them? How do you know when someone else is in love with you? This is not the only post Floss has written about love this week, and her words always seem to make me think of my younger self, and how I did things. Do you have any answers for Floss?
I have been following Francesca Demont’s St. Petersburg series, and loved reading those, but I hate you really touched me. She loves so deeply, and I wonder if her love will stay unanswered.
- Need by Little Switch Bitch — what a shot this is, the perfect way you to make you feel needy too!
- Poster boy by Accidental Masturbator — the words in this post captures your attention, and lead you to a very hot image! Even more need now…
- This is Us by Steeled Snake — The first thing I saw was Charmer’s beautiful blond hair, and then I saw Snake. This image is strong, dynamic, and speaks of control and protection.
- Purple is my happy color by J. Lynn — I love the way she had quickly draped this beautiful scar to spoil us with a beautiful picture during her busy week.
- More than a flower by askmefast — I stared at this image for quite some time. It seems so simple, a poppy on his chest, but the title and that simple flower makes you stop and think about what it actually means. It is indeed SO much more than a flower.
