Misconceptions & Smiles #SoSS #99

As I wrote the title my mind went to the story I worked on this afternoon, which is another part of the No Consent series that has started on my blog this week. A couple of smiles and some sweet words way back then, and I ended up in one of the nightmares in my life. I was vulnerable, and totally misjudged the situation. I had so many misconceptions back then, about him, about her, but also a lot about myself.

I think it happens a lot, that we have misconceptions about others, and they about us. We think we know people from the way they act or the things they do, but like they say: you can’t judge a book by its cover. Those words are so true. People’s smiles might be sincere, but some smiles might hide sadness, or anxiety, or something sinister. A smile is something friendly, something I fall for every time, which means there are still times that people disappoint me when I realize what they have hidden behind their smiles. But nothing ever was as bad as what happened back then, and nothing will ever be as bad again.

Isn’t it strange where your mind wanders when you see some words?

Enough of my philosophizing and walk down a depressing memory lane and on to some sexiness and fun!

Sexy writing

A brilliant piece of writing for this week’s Wicked Wednesday comes from May More. Seriously, I love her style of writing, the way her words pull you in and don’t let you go before you’re at the end. Read Smile For The Camera and see what I mean!

There are some misconceptions about sex bloggers, on how they are always having sex and feeling sexy, but as Violet Grey writes in Do you think I’m sexy? I don’t. that is definitely not (always) the case. Mostly not, actually.

There are quite a number of post dealing with safe words, and one I want to highlight is Modestly Safe by Modesty Ablaze, because I too am one of those who keep on saying ‘stop stop stop’ when I actually want to go on… read what she has to say.

Wicked Wednesday

Every week someone else in the community does the top 3 roundup for Wicked Wednesday. Sometimes it’s me, but mostly it’s someone else. I love to engage others to do it, because I want Wicked Wednesday to be for everyone. Are you interested in doing the roundup (again)? Just get in contact with me!

Prompt 384 for Wicked Wednesday was ‘Camera’ for which 30 posts were linked. The top 3 was done by Molly Moore and she chose:

Smut Marathon

This week on the Smut Marathon site there’s a post that shows the prize packages for the winner and the two runners up. The sponsors have been very generous with their prizes, something I am always very thankful for!

Tips & tricks

Jupiter Grant has written a great post for The Smutlancer, so if you want to know How Do You Write Smut When You Don’t Feel Sexy?, she has some advice for you!

This day in past years

Sharing posts from the twelfth of October in the past years of my blog:

This continues from the post of the previous week, where I had some clearer thoughts on having sex with someone outside our marriage.

My thoughts on the beauty and the horror of garter belts.

A post about my fourth time I participated in NaNoWriMo, and who knew then it would be my last.

A piece of erotic fiction about the magic of his voice, and how she surrenders.
