Fairies & Classics #SoSS #96

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see
I’m just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I’m easy come, easy go, little high, little low
Any way the wind blows doesn’t really matter to me, to me
Lyrics from Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen

I used to love fairy tales, and actually still love them, although in recent years I have realized that some of them are actually quite cruel. What I love even more than the classic fairy tales, are to take them and turn them into something erotic. I think one of the best examples of that is the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy. Hot damn, how I have enjoyed that! In this post you find another tale that has been twisted into something sexy, and this made me think of the Dutch writing marathon where the very first year the writers’ final assignment was to change a classic fairy tale into something sexy. Who knows, the Smut Marathoners might just get that same assignment sometime in future marathons.

The cover of the single by Queen - Bohemian RhapsodyWhen we talk about classics, we don’t only talk about books, but also about music, which means it’s a song that has a timeless quality. So many songs of way back when are still heard on the radio, and teens actually sing along to it. Some songs come to mind, those of Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond which both were my parent’s favorites, and today they are my favorites too. I think about ELO, which is Master T’s favorite, but also mine and we went to two concerts with their music, and took our youngest with us, as she loves their music. But there’s so much more. Some songs just go on and on and on and is a favorite of generation after generation, like Bohemian Rhapsody.

Every year on Christmas Day the Top 2000 starts and it ends at midnight on the 31st of December. Every year since 2004 it has become tradition that Master T and I listen to the Top 2000 (some of you might even recall that I tweet the top songs on New Years Eve). The top 2000 started in 1999 and in the 20 years it’s been on, sixteen times Bohemian Rhapsody was the number 1 song. Even though there are many people complaining that we should have a new number 1, this has become a classic for the last day of our year, the last minutes of our year: singing along with Queen.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on AC/DC’s Thunderstruck…

Sexy writing

Some incredibly good writing this week came from Ria Restrepo, in her story Waiting, which feels like it wasn’t fiction, but something that really happened. And not only that, it’s hot too!

When I started reading Frigid by Brigit Delaney I had no idea where it would go, but the more I read, the broader my smile got. She’s back! She’s back and she’s writing again. Yep, call me a fan…

I love it when a fairy tale is being changed into something sexy, and that is just what Deviant Succubus has done with one of the classics in her story, A Different Kind Of Wonderland.

May wrote a story that sounded supernatural, and all natural at the same time. Go read Squealed ~ A Love Story and be prepared to be surprised.

Hot images

There are three photo memes I check every week to look for sexy images to share here: Sinful Sunday, Boobday and the newest, Lingerie Is For Everyone.

Smut Marathon

The eighth voting round of the Smut Marathon 2019 closed last night. These were the quarter finals, and where 17 writers have sent in their stories, only fourteen of those writers will advance to the semi-finals of the marathon. Tomorrow at noon Amsterdam time, you can find the results of the quarter finals on the site, and also the names of the semi-finalists.

  1. Marie – what can I say, you had me at ‘fairy tales’ (you know I love to write twisted erotic ones myself)
Then you pulled me closer with your love of Bohemian Rhapsody – such a favourite of mine

Then you made me go Wow! by featuring one of my posts – you know I don’t think of myself as a good photographer so I was delighted with that, but your kind comment blew me away! So grateful and it makes me feel good about myself, which lets face it we all need in our lives. Thank you.

I echo the praise for your tireless dedication to this smutty over-sharing community!
    Great #SoSS post.
