Respect & Voting #SoSS #95

But I believe in working, then I believe in a little help
Cause I’m not a light unto myself
Without a thing of value, why settle for second best
We don’t know what’s up ahead
And we can’t let ourselves forget
We’ve got to show some respect
We’ve got to learn to protect
Don’t take it for granted, I know
That if you want to stay close
We’ve got to show some respect
Lyrics from Show Some Respect by Tina Turner

Respect… I have written about it before, and how much it means to me. Sometimes I wonder where this world is going to, as it seems people are getting more disrespectful every day. So many people are so into prioritizing themselves, that they forget to treat others with respect. Don’t get me wrong, putting yourself on the first place is definitely a good thing. Some of us need to learn to do that. But putting yourself in the first spot, and then talking to others like they are trash… well that’s just a show of a lack of respect for other people. Unfortunately, I have some people like that who I have to deal with every day.

Some of the posts I have chosen this week deals with respect. Why is it fun to be disrespectful of another when they are not around?

Another post I shared deals with a different kind of respect: the respect for our own bodies. I believe that everyone of us struggle with our bodies in some way or another, but just as we should learn to love and accept our bodies, we should also learn to respect it.

Something else that totally has my respect, or rather more than one someone, are those people who are still in the Smut Marathon, but also those who have competed in previous rounds. Round after round wonderful stories are crafted for your reading pleasure, and only for that the writers deserve our respect. Yes, of course I am here to promote the voting, but please do show the writers your respect to read their stories and then vote, to help them onto the next round.

Never forget, respect is a beautiful thing. If you treat others with respect, it will make you feel good, and you will receive the respect you deserve too!

Sexy writing

We are all our worst critics, and frequently see the negative things about our bodies, rather than the positive. I love Nikki’s post, Flavors of confidence, talking about exactly this, and her relationship with her own body. This post is beautiful, and a note to all of us who are to harsh with ourselves.

PurpleSole has hit a nerve with his post A Little Respect, in which he writes the respect for our partners, whether we are with them or not.

The Experiment, a story by Deviant Succubus is right up my alley. It ticks so many sexy boxes, and actually I want to read on and know what other experimental treatment she might receive.

There is something about being watched, that is incredibly sexy. Not always at first (for me) but the more excited I get, the more I love him watching. Jupiter Grant captures those feelings expertly in her post Watching You Watching Me.

Not having had an easy life — something I never dwell on, but others remind me of from time to time — this post, Rise up by Molly totally resonated with me. No matter what life throws at you, always rise up again! And, the song is really beautiful!

Have you checked your calendars? Tomorrow the voting round opens for the quarter finals of the Smut Marathon 2019. Only the semi finals and the finals remain after this round, so you better get your reading glasses on and your fingers on the voting button, because YOUR VOTE helps decide who will make it to the final or not! Tomorrow at noon my time, the eighth voting round will open! Watch this space!

This day in past years

Sharing posts from the fourteenth of September in the past years of my blog:

2011: Going to the border
An erotic story based on a tiny part of my history. I never went to ‘The Border’, but I have heard stories of things that happened there.

2012: Challenging performances (1/3)
I hate to perform for someone in a way where I have to dance or strip, and it’s because of this Master T gave me this task.

2014: Changed Weekend Plans
This post shows my injuries after, or rather during, a hotel stay.

2016: Full Circle
A post about our low protocol D/s and how we do things in our own way.

2017: Je Joue G-spot Bullet Vibrator
A product review.

2018: Risky Business
A post for Kink of the week, about risky sex.
