Honesty & Votes #SoSS #85

As I read through posts this week, somehow it were the posts that were written with raw honesty, that portrayed honest and heartfelt emotions, that drew me in. That was when I decided that I wanted to share those here, as it’s the honesty in the posts that touch me. It’s like my mind is now not looking for fiction (even though I still enjoy to read that very much) but it needed some ‘real life stuff’. I know the majority of my posts in the past months have been about my thoughts and feelings, and only the occasional piece of fiction appeared on my blog. Is that why I am drawn to post filled with honest feelings? I have no idea.

One thing I truly believe is that when you share something about your own life — yes, even the ‘bad’ stuff — there might be someone out there that sighs with relief that they are not the only one going through a specific situation. I never believed in only sharing the good, because that just doesn’t give a full picture. Every relationship, every life that’s lived, has its happy days, but also its not-so-happy days, and we should all be able to share all of it without any shame. Thankfully, in this community, it’s possible to share.

PS: Please remember to vote tomorrow — see the competition part of this post!

Sexy writing

When I saw the title, MMF of LoveLustLondon’s post, I knew I wanted to read it, and I wasn’t disappointed. This post is incredibly sexy, but also filled with honesty.

Another post filled with honesty is Body Love: Body Positivity, Fat Shaming and a Broken Shell by DeviantSuccubus. She shares her views on her body, and I love her musing at the end of her post: Maybe the important part is not if I love my body. But if my body can bring pleasure when it is supposed to.

Brigit Delaney got her words out after Getting past the blank page and she’s right, we always welcome her back. But I wanted to include her post here because of her honest writing about the recent developments in their relationship, and her feelings about it.

One person who is all about writing brutally honest posts, is Hyacinth. An example of such a post is Fighting it all, but if you haven’t yet, just browse her site and read her posts.

The last honest posts I want to share for this week, are two by Jade: One day at a time and That was yesterday…. Jade has poured her heart into these posts; read them!

Rebel’s Notes in past years

A couple of newsletters ago — have you signed up yet? — I started sharing posts from my blog that have been post in the different years on the date of the newsletter. I enjoy doing this, as it reminds me of things I have written and forgotten about, and it shows me how I have grown.

As from this week, I am replacing the last section ‘Last but not least’ with ‘This day in past years’.

2012: Task: Mind focus
Master T and I went for a day of shopping, and I had a task to make a photo of my naked breasts. There was a wee moment of embarrassment!

2014: Orange Fever
I think it’s quite appropriate that this image is highlighted this week, since tomorrow the Dutch women’s team is playing the finals of the World Cup Football. We have watched every match, and I think you can say we are suffering from a bit of ‘orange fever’ just like this Sinful Sunday image from back then shows.

2016: Dead Weight
This might have been one of the first posts I wrote about my LCHF journey that I started back in 2016. I have embarked on that journey again, two weeks ago, and where I have fallen off the wagon on Thursday, I am determined to get back on and have the same success I had back in 2016!

2018: Paloqueth Cordless Wand Massager
I don’t do much product reviews, but here is one of those I have done in the past. As I re-read the review, I realized this toy has never made it to my car, and in the meantime I don’t even have the same car anymore. But, it might just make it to my car soon, now that I have remembered about this. Sometimes you just need a toy in the car to make traffic jams more memorable.

It seems the uneven years were not good ones for posting on 6 July, as there were no posts in 2011, 2013, 2015 or 2017, but of course today I am breaking that pattern…
