The ‘chills’ in the title will explain itself when you read on, but the starts?
Of course there’s the start to the Smut Marathon tomorrow, but I want to talk about a start that happened today, 9 years ago. That was the day I sat down, figured out how to start a Blogger blog. I had to look for a name and wanted ‘Rebel’ in there as it had been my chat name for so many years, and I somehow always saw myself as a bit of a rebel because in the end I always do things my way. But, I didn’t want to call the blog only ‘Rebel’. So I played around with words… journal, blog, writings, words… and then… Rebel’s Notes. I loved the sound of it, and where the blog was initially set up to share my erotic stories (I cringe when I read those first ones I have posted), later I was happy I called it ‘Rebel’s Notes’ because it left the space open for anything I wanted to put here, whether fiction or fact, sexy or not.
Yes, today is my ninth blogiversary! I can hardly believe it’s already been NINE years, and when I look back at those years, I am proud and thankful of all I have reached. I have never felt so part of a community, so loved, so at ease, as I do here. It’s like I have finally found my people, found the place where I can always be myself. And what’s more… I have met so many lovely people in the past years, some of whom I nowadays consider my friends… and that wouldn’t have happened had I not started Rebel’s Notes 9 years ago.
Thank you all for being here!
Stories about the paranormal have always interested me, although I will never attempt to write them myself, but rather leave it to people who do it as well as Lascivious Lucy did in her story, Iron.
It’s beautiful and special if someone writes a piece of flash fiction and manages to tell a story in such a way that you had a feeling you’ve read for hours. May More managed that in her story PJ’s Horseshoe.
This story, Runaway Baby, by Cara Thereon sent shivers down my spine. I think this is the fear of many women, and unfortunately to too many this has become reality.
Jack of Jack and Jill shared an image that has only slightly been altered to preserve his anonymity, but other than that everything can be seen in This is Me. Such a sexy shot!
Missy blew me away with her triptych called Pull your knickers down. The edit she has used, the movement from one image to the next. It’s stunning!
Menstrual blood is not something to be ashamed of, but is something to be celebrated, for more reasons than is commonly known. I love the art work that Kisungura has shared in her Sinful Sunday post, Cells, made from blood stained paper towels. Beautiful and special!
Another stunning image is Come As You Are by Gem, taken by PurpleSole. The way she lies on the floor with the guitar in front of her? It’s a joy for the eyes!
I looked at Zoë’s image and looked again and thought about the brilliance of this image, the symmetry, the quote. Just go look at at the meeting of my thighs to see what I mean!

Tomorrow is the big day. Tomorrow the participants of the Smut Marathon 2019 receive their first assignment, and in the coming week there will be a post in which we announce all the writers. An email with the planning and the most important rules has already been sent to the writers, and I just love the enthusiasm of so many who can’t wait to get started.
Let the games begin!
Tips & tricks
February Photofest — a delicious month of sharing your photos — is just around the corner, and this was reason for Feve to share some of her knowledge of editing photos, in her post Basic Photo Editing for the Enthusiastic but Clueless.
But, Feve went on to share another post about photo editing, this time for the smartphone. Please also read Apps & Snaps: Exploring Smart-Phone Photo Editing. There’s valuable information here!
There’s a new meme in town: Lingerie Is For Everyone! This is Violet Fawkes creation, and you can participate weekly from Tuesday to Thursday and combine it with other memes:
No matter your gender or sexuality, no matter the size or shape of your body, no matter your ethnicity, if you love lingerie, you are welcome to contribute. It doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive, if it’s an undergarment that you feel good in, that’s all you need. Likewise, if you’re less about pictures and more about words, written pieces that center on lingerie can be included too – opinion pieces, fiction, and poetry are all welcome. Sexy, silly, provocative, revealing, there are no limits – just fun, encouragement and community!
Last but not least
Last week I told you how I was fighting dizziness and some pressure in my head. I went to the doc on Monday and he confirmed: my balance organ again. I went to work on Tuesday but by 11am I was back home again. I worked from home for the rest of the day, not feeling well, but was glad when by early evening the pressure in my head started to lift. On Wednesday I continued to improve and on Thursday I returned to the office again. And today? I returned to the gym and am energized again to go there at least twice a week! Yay for feeling better!
Oh and just as a final note, but oh so very important: February Photofest starts on Friday! Don’t forget!
