Poems & Memes #SoSS #62

Know your meme

This week I am sharing a poem in under the ‘Sexy writing’ section, written by Sammi. I have frequently told her that I love her poems, and I do. The rhythm and rhyme, her style of writing is something I really love. Poem writing isn’t something I have done much, but there is one poem that comes to mind, and that is the one which I wrote for my mom when she turned 50. That was one of the rare times I saw my mom cry. The poem was about the major things that happened in her life from the moment she was born until the time she turned 50, and on that birthday I read the poem out loud to her, and tears formed in her eyes. She lovingly called me a ‘stupid girl’ that day, and I think that was one of the most beautiful things she had said to me.

There is something else I want your attention for, if I may. In the sidebar of the Wicked Wednesday site, there is a menu and in that menu there was one item called ‘Other Memes’. Under that item were four other items, which were the other three memes on the Wicked Wednesday site — The Menopause Diaries, The Oral Sex Project and Sexy Searching — and ‘Memes by Others’. I have now changed the main item to ‘More Memes’, but the thing I want your attention for is the page ‘A List of All Memes‘. There you will find a list of ALL memes known to me, and some information about them, like who the host is and whether it works with a prompt or not. If you know of any memes that are not included on this list, please let me know and I will add it.

Then, let’s get on with the highlights of this week…

Sexy writing

For years now I have read the poems that Sammi writes for Wicked Wednesday, and I always love them, but this week she totally blew me away with her poem for the prompt ‘Technical Sex‘. I just love this!

Are you interested in anal play, but don’t know where to start or you have some difficulties with it? Read Not to get too technical, but(t) … by Violet as this has a goldmine of information and advice for you!

We all know Lord Raven as the writer of dark stories, and now he has announced a new series on his blog, and something I look forward to: Dashboard Confessions. If the first post, The Cold Truth, is anything to go by, this series is going to be excellent.

I am loving all the post for Bee’s new meme, Menstruation Matters, but this week I want to highlight Ella Scandal’s post, Whose Shame is it Anyway?. This really is a wonderful post!

Hot images

Missy has posted the most wonderful image of her nipple jewelry last week Saturday, which I only saw after my #SoSS post was up. Just look at Celtic Nipple Shield #SJC 54 and you will see what I mean.

Sometimes an image with no nudity can be so striking that you just want to keep on looking at it. That’s what happened when I saw May More’s image, Dressed & Ready for Dick-tation. I love the pose, love the dress, love the setting of the image!

An image that made me smile is the one for Sinful Sunday by Mrs Fever, Peek-a-Boo Patella. The image is dreamlike and sexy, but when you read her words, you just have to smile.

Prompts

Prompts are a great way to inspire you to write a new post, and you can also combine two prompts (or three) if you want.

Competition

Writers, tomorrow is the LAST day you can enter for the Smut Marathon 2019. Don’t be late, enter right now!

Tomorrow is also the day on which we announce the last jury member, who is someone you all know very well. No, I’m not saying anything more. In the past week two more jury members have been announced, Charlie Powell and Chris McClennan.

Tips & tricks

Okay, I want to ask your attention for a new project:

The project is to bring awareness to the mental health & mental illnesses. I believe that we as sex bloggers shouldn’t be expected to write about just sex but also how our sex lives & relationships may be effected by the symptoms of our own or loved ones mental illness. Even if one doesn’t have a medically diagnosed mental illness I know that there must be days of feeling “down in the dumps” or stress, anxiety of a loved ones mental state. I am hoping that this project can inspire, encourage and support fellow sex bloggers to not be afraid of judgment.

Those are the words of SassyCat, who has started a new place for people to link their posts about mental health. Have been through a very difficult time last year, and having experienced just how dark one’s thoughts can be in the throes of a depression, I want to encourage you all to support this project. When you write about your mental health, please link to #SB4MH (Sex Bloggers for Mental Health).

Sometimes time just runs out on us and we can’t get to writing the things we so want to do. We feel overwhelmed and stressed and guilty and inadequate. Want to know how to deal with that? Kayla has some tips: 5 Things to Do When You Feel Overwhelmed and Stressed.

Last but not least

I had a good session at the gym on Wednesday and fully planned on going there again today, for another good session. Unfortunately, when I went to bed on Wednesday night I noticed some dizziness and every time I turned over in bed that night, the world spun around me. I attempted to drive to work on Thursday morning, but some kind of pressure build up in my head and I realized it would be a dumb thing to get on the highway. I called in sick. The pressure in my head is not gone, and neither is the dizziness, so going to the gym will not be one of the things I will be doing today, and that makes me sad and a bit angry too. Everything was going so well, and now this. In the past two years I had this dizziness a couple of times, and the doctor said it was because of a disturbance in the balance organ in my inner ear. However, the pressure I feel now is new. I have a feeling t has something to do with my husband having to go for a new kind of therapy for his leg. We heard this on Wednesday, and that was also the day when I voiced my fears for the future, a lot of what ifs… I have a feeling this dizziness is more stress-related than to some kind of infection of my inner ear. However, I don’t care where it comes from, I just want it to be over already…

  1. Great round up Marie, thanks for sharing your highlights for the week. There are new memes around and it’s a great idea of yours to signpost them too – Cat’s meme and SubBee’s will both be as helpful as they are interesting.
I hope Master T’s treatment helps him turn the corner. I also hope your dizziness/balance symptoms abate soon.

  2. Yes you so much for sharing this with everyone. I appreciate it so much. Vertigo is awful. I suffered from Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and can sympathize with you. I do hope you find some relief and start feeling better soon.

  3. Thanks so much for including my image Marie and #sb4mh – i am helping Cat with the admin for her project. Dizziness can be caused by stress too – wishing u well x
