Protection & Symmetry #SoSS #27

I’ve been a bit stupid… I ‘forgot’ to use protection.

On all laptops and computers in our house, we run Norton as for years this has protected us against viruses and malicious files. Up to maybe two years ago, maybe even three, I ran a plugin on my website to do exactly the same as Norton does for my laptop: protect it. By the time I moved back to a Dutch host (I was with an American host for about 6 months and had so many problems then), I had uninstalled Wordfence because of… I cannot remember why. I still received the emails of Wordfence and always thought ‘ah yes, I need to install that again’, but you know how it goes – I just never got around to do it. Until yesterday. I received a message from Molly that my site has been infected with malware… and she was right. With some coaching from Michael, and many hours of my head swinging from headache to panic and back to a headache again, my site is up and running again.

I now have Wordfence installed on all of my websites, protecting my websites, but also you, my readers.
Please, if you have a self-hosted WordPress site, make sure you are protected! Don’t be as stupid as I was…

Let’s get on to sexier things than stupid malware and hackers!

Sexy writing

Have you ever felt like you are invisible, even though you are trying your best to be visible? Even if it’s not true, but only a feeling, I think we should be aware that this happens, and that’s why I wanted to highlight Cara’s post, Downplay, here.

Powerful writing by Victoria Blisse, where she watches herself and saw The Truth in the Mirror. This is beautiful and empowering.

I like the teasing here, the way he gets exactly what he wants and how he wants it, even though she was the one who has started it. Strip the sheets by Molly is a delicious story!

I squirmed a bit when I read nookyeverafter’s post Blink, in which she shares how her boyfriend came on and over her face.

This is a beautiful love story, a story of self-discovery but also of discovering him… the one Violet says about: I call him Darling, Baby, Hunny, Love.

Hot images

It seems that three of the images I have selected for this week have symmetry in them. I like that!

I like the quote Anny Savoy has used in her post, Ungovernable, and of course I love the image!

Zippers, Leather and… reddish blond hair and a cleavage is what Steeled Snake has to offer.

A shot that is absolutely gorgeous and I would love to see in a gallery, is Twin Peaks by Exposing40. This is such a clever image!

Monika of Godemiche is a talented photographer, as can be seen in Conscious, which shows a lovely image of her in the morning light.

Last week we introduced Tabitha Rayne & Rocks Off  as sponsors for the Smut Marathon. Today we announced that Satisfyer is a sponsor too. The prize packages are shaping up nicely. I am busy with one more sponsor and hope to get then on board too! Watch this space…

Did you know that many people blog about the Smut Marathon and share there links?

Last but not least

This past week I have joined Molly and others in setting a weekly steps goal and doing daily squats. I am TOTALLY unfit, so much so that walking up the two flights of stairs to the attic where my son’s room is, have me gasping for air. There was a time when I walked a lot, but ever since I am the designated driver when we go somewhere, I always take the car. This past week I set my steps goal at 5000, but then upped it to 10000 and then to 15000 since I now make sure I walk. I walked to the pedicure and when I went for a massage and was way to early, I walked in the neigbourhood there before I went for my massage. This has also been a very active week with our new bedroom being installed, which means I walked a bit more than I would normally do.

And, I did squats. Yesterday I did them in our bedroom, in front of our new closet, which has three meters of… MIRRORS. I can tell you, I loved watching myself doing those squats and actually imagined myself doing them naked…

It’s good to be a bit active again and I hope that when we return to work as the end of the month, I will be able to go out for at least one walk a week! Start small, right?
