Day Collar

Challenge #26 of the 26 by 26 challenge was:

I want you to make an inspired and beautiful contribution to the culture that you are a part. Document the process with an image.
– Simon Høgsberg

Again I debated with myself for quite some time about what photo I could use to show what culture I am a part of. First of all I had to decide what culture I want to present, as I have many facets to me. That decision was quickly made: the photo had to portray something in the BDSM culture. I wanted to look for photos where it shows cuffs, or rope or a toy. Or maybe marks on my body.

But, I came up with something totally different.

Almost 2 years ago I showed you my new daytime collar, but back then Master T said we will keep on looking for something permanent. We kept our eyes open, but could not find anything, until one day I stumbled across this rhodium-plated necklace of Swarovksi. The center chain link crafted in black ceramic, while some other links are decorated with radiant clear crystals.

    1. Nope, it wasn’t custom made. I actually mentioned in the post where I got it from – Swarovski. They have quite a number of necklaces that can be used as day collars.

  2. Your collar is Very nice! That You can wear it anytime and anywhere is a Great Idea! I have 3 Women who want me to get one for each for wear at work, ETC. Great Article!

  3. Really beautiful! I’ve noticed that since I’ve been following your and other people’s blogs, sometimes when I see a woman out and about with a beautiful short necklace on I wonder if it is a collar. I love the black ceramic link.

    1. Thanks Maria. And like you, I always wonder when I see a necklace that might double for a collar. I just never dare to ask 😉

  4. That’s so pretty. I need something subtle like this as well. Can’t exactly where a dog collar everywhere without getting strange looks. 😉

  5. You’re right, people ‘in the scene’ instantly recognize it, but outside of that, everyone just thinks it’s a beautiful piece of jewelry 🙂

    1. Thanks, I sure do. It’s heavy and I feel it around my neck, which is a very comforting feeling. But just seeing it in the mirror around my neck makes me feel special too 🙂 xox

  6. I love this collar, it;s perfectly representative of the lifestyle we choose, and obviously has such a huge symbolic significance in your life.
