Smut Marathon 2014: Assignment #4

Nine authors started on round 4, and I must say that I honestly found this quite a difficult assignment:

Check out the 86-word postcard mentioned in the piece. Then write me a “postcard” that is 100 words max that you think would be intriguing enough to be kept for the ages. All of my standard rules apply. No non-consentual, no underage, no animals, no sex between family members… if you have a question about your content, please let me know. Sometimes I haven’t listed a no-no, b/c I didn’t know I had to! Of course, this assignment doesn’t have to be a sexual message. I’m just saying.

I read the assignment over and over, visited the website mentioned and read the postcard several times. We had three weeks to send the assignment in, but I only did it a couple of days before the deadline. I was totally without any inspiration, but was happy with what I came up with:

That Night
Remember that cold, dark, rainy night in the middle of winter? The night a soft body joined you in bed? I needed the warmth and touch of another human being. You could have been suspended from service being caught with a woman in your bed, but you held me tight and made me feel safe from the terrible war out there. Your kisses, your arms, your body, your whispered words – they pulled me through. You gave me what I needed even though you do not know who I am. This memory will stay with me, always. Love, your nurse.

smut2014-4I survived this round, tying for third place with two other authors. I have not really expected to make it through to the next round, simply because I thought my piece did not live up to what it should have been. But apparently there were people who liked it, and who voted for it.

In the meantime we have our assignment for round 5 and this one is a bit easier than the assignment for round 4. But only a bit… you will have to wait a few weeks before you can read about it.
