I cannot believe it. No serious, I really cannot believe this. It is my fourth blogoversary. Four years ago, today, I started Rebel’s Notes on blogger, not knowing in which direction this adventure would take me and how long I will keep going with it. When I typed the subject of this post, I typed ‘Third birthday’. Then I looked back on previous posts of mine in the category ‘blogoversary’ and realized that it was my fourth blogoversary, not the third. The fourth! How cool is that?
But, it’s not the only anniversary that is celebrated in these days. Three days from today, on the 29th of January, it is three years ago that Master T and I made our formal commitment to our D/s relationship. And six days ago, on the 20th of January, I celebrated my third birthday on Twitter. It seems January is the month for new beginnings.
Looking back on the last four and three years and I realized how much I have learned, how far I have come. I have learned such a lot in the four years that I have been blogging… about blogging, about WordPress, about the blogging community, about writing and last, but certainly not least, about myself. I want to thank everyone who has helped me, but for this post I want to thank some people in person.
First of all, I want to thank my Husband & Owner, Master T. Thank you for leading me down the road of submission, for being my Mijnheer, for teaching me to be the submissive you want me to be, for loving me, for cherishing me, for hurting me, for sharing my laughs, drying my tears. Thank you for being you and completing me, for allowing me to be the person I always needed to be.
A couple that has helped me a lot is @DomSigns (Michael) and @Mollysdailykiss (Molly). Michael is the one who encouraged me to try self-hosting and I never regretted the moment I have taken the step, on my birthday almost two years ago. Every time I had a question about WordPress he patiently helped me with it. Thank you, Michael! Molly, thank you for your inspiration, your support when I started my own meme, your help when I landed up in situations and did not know how to continue. And of course, thanks for ‘the kiss‘, thank you for such a lovely memory!
I think I have said this before, but I will say it again. Every time I think of the beginning of our D/s relationship I have to think of a photo that @mydesire (Mina) posted on her Tumblr (which sadly does not exist anymore). This photo rekindled a long ongoing discussion between Master T and me. The discussion was almost as old as our relationship, but when I showed Him this photo, it was just what was needed to come to the commitment of our D/s relationship. This photo helped me to admit that I am submissive, that I needed His control, His dominance. If you look at the people I follow on Twitter, you will see that I have followed Mina since the very beginning of my Twitter adventure. Mina has unknowingly helped me a lot in understanding my own submission. And… I had the privilege to meet Mina at Eroticon 2013. She is not very active on Twitter anymore on the account of @mydesire but she has another account if you are really interested to keep on following her. Just ask!
Another person I want to thank is Ruby Kiddell, the brain behind Eroticon and @WriteSexRight
I have learned quite a lot at Eroticon 2013 and I am looking forward to attending Eroticon 2014. But it is not only the learning aspect of Eroticon that is fabulous but to be able to be surrounded by like-minded people, by other bloggers, to meet people you have admired on your screen… that is just fabulous and indescribable. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones in March! Was it not for Ruby’s brainchild, Eroticon, this combination of learning and socializing would probably not have been possible.
Other than Master T, there have been three other people who have helped me to understand my submission, who have offered me opportunities to experience, to learn, to feel, to hurt, to love, to cry, to laugh. Thank you, Master R, Dena and Master B!
This post has turned out to be longer than I wanted it to be – probably my longest Sinful Sunday post up to now – but I just wanted to mention some people by name, even though there are a lot of others out there who I really love and adore! Thanks to all of those for touching my life in the ways you have, for reading my words and for helping to make this website as successful as it is!
