Happy New Year 2014

There is one song that is associated with leaving the old year and starting a new one, that always brings tears to my eyes:

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne!

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

This year this song has me reflecting on a year in which I made a lot of new friends, in which we really explored our kink and grew in our marriage and D/s relationship and at the same time I feel the excitement, thinking of the different dates we have already set up for 2014, of the people we will meet, of all the fun we will have together. There’s one person that has made all of this possible, one person that knows me better than anyone will ever do. Thank you, Master T, for being my Husband, my Owner, my soul mate, my best friend… the love of my life!

And to all you others out there, when listening to this song, I am thinking of the ones of you I have met, the ones of you I have had the privilege of spending time with and the ones I will meet in 2014 and maybe spend time with. And of course, I will also be thinking of the ones I really want to meet, but might not meet before some more time has passed.

  1. *chuckle* Marvellous photos – once again you amuse and delight, dear Marie! Thank you for a great year of Wicked Wednesdays, and for being a wonderful blogging friend 🙂

    Here’s to 2014!

    xx Dee

  2. “There are people who are no longer part of your life, but you carry around in your heart.” We prefer that to Auld Lang Syne. It doesn’t just refer to those that have died, but also to those people who, for whatever reason, are no longer part of our lives. I shall stop burbling now. 🙂

  3. Happy New Year to you & yours. Thanks for being all that you are, sharing of yourself, being kind to the newbies (like me) sharing of knowledge, allowing others to share.
*lifts my glass* Cheers…Best Wishes for this New Year 2014.

    1. Thank you for your beautiful words, SassyCat! Best wishes for you and yours too in 2014! Looking forward to see more of you this year 🙂
