Last year, sometime in October, I heard about NaNoWriMo, which is the acronym for National Novel Writing Month. Halfway through November 2011 I noticed a tweet about NaNoWriMo and I realized that I have totally forgotten about it.
Then came this year. In September I saw the first tweets about NaNoWriMo. I made a mental note. I was not going to forget it again. In the last week of September I clicked a link to NaNoWriMo. I use Google Chrome and whatever sites I was using the day before are on my screen again when I use my computer the next time. I did not sign up for NaNoWriMo immediately, because I had to think about it. Would I go for it or not? Would I be able to do it or will I not be able to find enough time to write? What if I cannot write every day? I suddenly realized that I would not be able to write every day, since I also have my painting and there were weekends we had things planned.
I mulled everything around in my mind, hovering between two questions: Will I? Will I not?
Then at last I was ready to make a decision.
I just signed up for @NaNoWriMo 😀

I have decided to try it. Would I be able to find enough time to write? I have no idea, but I was definitely going to try! I knew that most of my writing would happen on weekends and that might just do the trick for me. What if I don’t reach the goal of 50K words? I decided not to focus on the number of words, but on the story I wanted to write. It’s a challenge to participate in NaNoWriMo and as an added bonus I might have a novel done at the end of the month.
Who else out there will be joining the fun of NaNoWriMo? I would love to add you to my buddy list. You can find me under my user name: Marie Rebelle.
And for those out there who are still doubting whether you should join the fun… just do!
We’all just put a sign up for those around us…
PS: In the meantime I know I will start with a backlog, as I might only be able to type my first words on November 4 or 5 due to… nah, not telling yet!

I have done it the past several years and gotten through it each time, even in the midst of school. I’m rather on the fence about what I want to do this year in terms of story, as I have three in progress at the moment. Welcome aboard… it’s a fun ride 😀

I am definitely going to give it a go, even though I will start late 😀

Good luck! I just don’t think I have it in me. I don’t even have an idea and I have quite a few out of the country trips on my schedule during November. There is always next year!
I doubt whether I will be able to reach the 50k words as I will only start writing on November 4, but I am going to give it a go for sure 🙂
Maybe next year we can motivate each other!
Oh I wish you all the very best for your novel writing!! I shall look forward to the possibility of reading the end result!!

Thank you luv. I really hope I can do the 50k words in November, but even if I don’t, I will complete the story 🙂
And the end result will be shared, for sure 🙂 xox
