Rebel’s Year in Review (Jan – Jun 2016)

Rebel's Year In Review

We have reached the end of another year and as I have done in previous years, it’s time to review my year. I love these posts, where I get to read back the posts I have saved during the year – posts that have moved me in one or other way. It would have been impossible to do this post, have I not kept track of top posts during the year. In these short, grey days before Christmas and getting ready for a relaxing New Year’s Eve, I love looking back on my year and to look forward to the next. There are so many exciting things on the planning for next year!

But, for now, it’s time to share my highlights for the first six months of this year!

  • Received a lovely comment on my first post of the year, Happy New Year: I come to visit your blog ever so often, and I love the sincerity and honesty that you take into your writing. It is bereft of fake sentiments, and I think you are an example to a lot of bloggers out there.
    You inspire me.
  • Mentioned on Cara Sutra’s Sex Blogger Spotlight Series, where she featured the Naughty Business Report.

  • Lovely comments from Rose Bliss on my post about child abuse and my First Sexual Act: “That’s why your blog and others like it are so important, so valuable. You are starting to open people’s eyes.” and “Please keep writing and sharing. I don’t think you have any idea what a difference your posts are making.”
  • My Sinful Sunday post, Match-Fixing made the top 5 of week 253 of Sinful Sunday.

  • Everyday Sexism by Sub Bee – this post say it all. Respect is so important!
  • Bar the door by Tamsin Flowers – I am definitely not a fan of zombies, and years ago I would’ve told you that I hate them, but when I read stories like this, I can almost start to like them!
  • The Savannah Trilogy Continues by Stranded of Stranded in Toronto – Now you all know I am a huge fan of Stranded… uh of Savannah… uh okay okay, of both. Well I guess that explains why I am sharing this here!

  • Number 15 on the Top 100 Sex Bloggers List 2015, done by Molly after she has taken over from Rori, who sadly had to stop blogging.
  • My post, The Sign, was mentioned in Kayla Lord’s newsletter on 18 March 2016.
  • Mentioned in Modesty’s post Top 100 Sex Bloggers for 2015
  • The 200th prompt for Wicked Wednesday: The Best
  • I received a lovely mention from Cammies on the floor in her Jan-March Reveals post:
Another seriously influential sex blogger, she hosts memes like Wicked Wednesday, Sexy Searching, The Menopause Diaries, and the Oral Sex Project. She is my number one supporter and commenter – I don’t know if I would continue to pursue different ways of writing if it wasn’t for her. She is bold with her photos, brave in her Scavenger Hunt photos. She writes of her D/s journey and is honest in her own faults. She has a relationship that I am envious of. Her erotic fiction is pretty hot as well. Speaking of her kick ass nature, happy 200 prompts for Wicked Wednesday!!
  • Another lovely comment for the 200th Wicked Wednesday in the post Personal Best by Oleander Plume:
If you don’t know Marie, she is a writer, sex blogger, photographer, artist and social media maven. Quite frankly, I suspect she might be a superhero, but, shhh, don’t tell her I said that out loud. (Can’t unmask Superwoman, that would be very uncool!) Marie is one of those people that gets things done, in a fantastic way, and I admire her very much.

  • Not an achievement, but something I want to put here for when I’m old and grey, to look back on memories: Marie Rebelle is another I can’t forget to mention. I could lay cuddled in her arms for days. She’s focused, sexy, and kind and her love for the community was evident each time she saw a familiar face who’d embrace her. We dined together and drank and talked endlessly about life and kids and kink. And of course there’s her indelible partner, the quiet Master T, whose wit and sweetness was a perfect compliment to Rebel’s.
  • My post Pubic Disturbance was mentioned in Kayla Lord’s newsletter on 17 June 2016: This week’s Masturbation Monday prompt made me hot by itself, but when Marie Rebel wrote about pubic hair and the kinky way it can be used to create delicious pain, for a brief moment, I considered growing mine back. Now that’s a powerful bit of writing.
