Kink of the Week 7: Erotic Hypnosis
I saw the subject for this week’s Kink of the Week and I totally went blank. Huh? Erotic Hypnosis? I actually at first thought that I would just let it pass this week and join in again in week 8, but I was curious. I wanted to know more about erotic hypnosis, so besides reading Jade’s intro post on this subject, I started looking for information. I was intrigued…
Did you know that erotic hypnosis is also referred to as hypnofetishism? And did you know that you can eventually learn to hypnotize yourself?
I quote from the website of Shelle’s Hypnotica:
Hypnosis can be defined as an altered condition of one’s consciousness usually accomplished via combinations of suggestions and relaxations.
Erotic hypnosis is a kind of hypnosis which involves the association of hypnosis with sexuality. It may involve suggestions to boost a person’s sexual experience via the elimination of inhibitions, increasing sexual responses and enhancing the senses. Erotic hypnosis is utilized by individuals who wish to increase their feelings with regard to sexual arousal.
The practice of hypnosis has to do with using the simple power of suggestion to guide the brain to produce different responses to particular situations, thereby helping the person conquer a particular condition or behavior. For instance, hypnosis can guide the brain to stop craving chocolate, thereby helping in weight loss. By means of erotic hypnosis, the brain can be taught to respond to sexual circumstances without anxiety or stress, thereby rising above the inhibitions which are impeding sexual enjoyment or arousal.
My ears perked up when I read about hypnosis to stop craving chocolate, but I was more intrigued by the fact that hypnosis can help you to overcome anxiety or stress for specific situations and being more uninhibited. I think for people who really have problems with this, erotic hypnosis might be a perfect way to help them.
I moved on to Wikipedia, where I learned that erotic hypnosis can also be called recreational hypnosis and that it is typically, but not exclusively practiced within the BDSM community. I quote from Wikipedia:
Reducing inhibitions and increasing arousal is a notable goal of recreational hypnosis. The placement of trigger words in the subject’s mind as post-hypnotic suggestion to produce actions and experiences on-demand is a common practice. Erotic hypnosis can include suggestions intended to improve sexual health.
Hypnosis can be used within a dominance and submission relationship to reinforce power exchange and as a form of play. This ranges from hypnotically-induced orgasms to long-term conditioning. The act of hypnosis itself is erotic and relationship-affirming for many power exchange couples as the subject surrenders control and opens themselves to mental vulnerability.
And a last quote from Wikipedia:
Recreational hypnosis is so often used for sensual and sexual purposes that the term ‘erotic hypnosis’ is used synonymously.
Hypnotic suggestions may include techniques to overcome apprehension about fellatio, increase sensuality, improve libido, and increase breast size.
Another common form of erotic hypnosis is hypnotic fantasy, in which the subject is placed in a trance and taken through a description of a sexual experience. Depending on the depth of the trance and the skill of the hypnotist, the subject’s experience can range from mildly to deeply erotic.
Personality transformation is another common fantasy. People who identify with the submissive side of erotic hypnosis often fantasize about being freed from responsibilities or inhibitions and transformed into someone who can freely enjoy sexual pleasures. Such sexually submissive personae include the slave, female stereotypes like the bimbo, slut, stripper and fictional characters from popular media.
The last question in Jade’s intro post about Erotic Hypnosis was: Do you even believe in hypnotism?
Yes, I do. I believe people can be hypnotized and I believe people can be helped to overcome traumas by being hypnotized. That said, I think about some things I have seen on television where people are hypnotized and then they are made to act like they are chickens or dogs. They mostly don’t remember what they have done afterward, which is a good thing as they always acted totally ridiculous! If I then look at the last quote of Wikipedia – about erotic fantasies or personality transformations – I cannot help to think what the fun would be to undergo hypnosis, live out a fantasy and then come out of it and not be able to remember anything about it. But then again, if people can overcome fears or traumas by being hypnotized, I guess that there must be different kinds of hypnosis and that it depends on what kind you have undergone whether you will remember what you have experienced. I would definitely want to remember the sensations I have felt if I get to play out a fantasy while hypnotized.
So, where do I stand on the subject of erotic hypnosis? As said earlier, I am intrigued. I have absolutely no experience with it, but I would love to try it at least once. Of course, since I wanted to know more on either someone else hypnotizing me or me hypnotizing myself, I surfed the Internet some more. I came across two links that might be interesting for you too:
- Erotic Hypnosis – Self Hypnosis Online
- Peter Masters – Look Into My Eyes
- Hypnosis Erotica
- Hypnotic Dreams
Researching erotic hypnosis and thinking about the subject, I am quite curious to try it at least once. One thing that I think will be fun – maybe not as a permanent state, but for a week or two – is to be hypnotized and to orgasm on demand when Master T says a specific word. I think there’s quite some fun and excitement to be had with that. Something else that erotic hypnosis might help me with is to perform for Master T. I know He loves it when I perform a striptease for Him, but I always feel so self-conscious, to the point of being grumpy. I can imagine that hypnosis might help me to overcome that, that after being hypnotized, I might feel more at ease to perform for Him. This is something I would love to explore further. Is there anyone out there who wants to help me with this?
While writing this and tweeting about it, I was tipped about Isabella Valentine. I have obtained the sound file ‘No Hands’ which is in the ‘Jackpot’ series, which is a trance recording designed to make you climax without touching yourself.
Guess who will be practicing erotic hypnosis?
